From April 23-27 in Hannover, Leuze electronic will demonstrate their expertise in Safety at Work and Industry 4.0 in Hall 9, Booth F68

RSL 400 PROFIsafe safety laser scanner

Owen, 9. February 2018 - Sensor expert Leuze electronic will be highlighting the company's expertise in Safety at Work at this year's trade fair in Hannover. On the basis of its MLC safety light curtains, the optical sensor manufacturer developed the sensorless Smart Process Gating as an alternative to the muting process. A further safety highlight that will be presented is the company's RSL 400 safety laser scanner. Its new PROFINET/PROFIsafe models can be easily integrated into industrial networks. For German automakers, the devices are available in an AIDA-compatible version. Also new is the combination of the RSL safety technology with a high-quality measurement value output for the navigation of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs). The measurement values are conceived specifically for the requirements of the AGV navigation software. In addition to the issue of safety, smart Industry 4.0 solutions are another focal point of Leuze electronic's trade show appearance in Hannover. Using practical examples, Leuze electronic will demonstrate how condition monitoring and predictive maintenance work. For this purpose, the sensor manufacturer will introduce an intelligent sensor cable with "SmartCore technology", among other things. This cable makes it possible to preventatively identify a looming wire break before the sensor cable fails entirely. This makes it possible to plan maintenance intervals, thereby avoiding costly, unexpected system downtime. Leuze electronic will also demonstrate how sensor data can be globally networked and made available across different locations, applications, and corporate boundaries by means of OPC UA and cloud services. Furthermore, the company will demonstrate how augmented reality data glasses can facilitate commissioning for installers. Device parameters and the reading fields of the bar code reader are displayed on the HoloLens, which yields improved reading quality and allows for the commissioning time to be reduced. Leuze electronic can be found in Hall 9, Booth F68. Leuze electronic is also present at the booths of Microsoft (Hall 7), the OPC Foundation (Hall 9), and the PI user organization (Hall 9).
